Noida: A man was arrested on Friday for allegedly killing another person after an altercation at a family event in Tusyana village.
Police said they were informed on Thursday that the body of Manoj alias Lalu, a resident of Chatiya village in Hardoi district, UP, had been found in the village.
DCP (central Noida) Shakti Mohan Avasthy said preliminary inquiry revealed that during a family event, an argument had broken out between the victim and the accused, Jagveer Bhati. Manoj allegedly abused Jagveer, following which the latter left the venue.
Later, Jagveer allegedly returned with a sickle and searched for Manoj. The two reportedly had a scuffle on a road leading into the village. Jagveer attacked Manoj with the weapon, causing fatal injuries.
Police said the accused has been taken into custody . A sickle, along with the clothes and shoes worn by him at the time, were seized. The victim's body has been sent for autopsy.
An FIR has been registered under Section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of BNS at the Ecotech-3 police station. Police said the accused has a criminal history and has been involved in similar cases in the past.
