Man gets life term for raping 5-yr-old by luring her for Rs 2 in Noida
Noida: A 26-year-old man was handed a life term and imposed a Rs 50,000 fine for raping a five-year-old girl in the Ecotech 3 area in 2021. He had lured the child, his neighbour, by promising to give her Rs 2 coin.On March 13, 2021, the accused lured her to his room and raped her after which he fled. Hearing the child's cry, her mother reached the spot with neighbours. A case was registered against the accused under sections of rape and the Pocso Act. He was arrested and sent to judicial custody on March 15. On May 10, 2021, a charge sheet was filed, and the charges were framed on Dec 7, 2021. The prosecution produced eight witnesses, including the survivor, her parents, a doctor, and police personnel. Interestingly, the survivor's parents later turned hostile in court and said that the child fell while playing and was injured.However, the survivor told the court that the accused called her inside his room and did a bad act in her mouth and private parts. He also gave her a Rs 2 coin and asked not to tell anyone.Dr Kajal Jain, who performed the survivor's medical examination, stated that she suffered vaginal bleeding and had injury marks on her private parts.
Meanwhile, the accused denied the allegations and said that he was being wrongly framed by jealous neighbours.Saurabh Dwivedi, special judge, Pocso Act, relied on the testimony of the survivor and the medical evidence and convicted the accused.
