Maintenance work on, Noida Sec 63 stays without power for 12 hours
Noida: The power department on Sunday snapped electricity to Sector 63 for 12 hours, and several villages for six hours to carry out planned maintenance work.
Officials said that they replaced 11kV cables and circuit breakers from 9am to 9pm at the Sector 63 substation.
"Work undertaken included replacing all 11kV VCBs and feeders of the sector. Power was cut to multiple blocks of Sector 63, block B of Sector 69 TP Nagar, Sector 63A and Chhijarsi colony," said Harish Bansal, chief zonal engineer, Noida power department, PVVNL.
The department also carried out maintenance work at the Ithera substation from 10am to 4pm.
"During this period, feeder numbers 2 and 6, as well as the 11,000 kV line, which operated from the Ithera substation, were shut for 6 hours. The power supply was shut in villages Roza Jalalpur, Roza Yakubpur, Milk Lachchi and Sadullapur," Bansal said.
Apart from that, tree pruning work was carried out around the 33 kV cables at villages Bishnauli, Dhoom Manikpur and NTPC-Dadri road in Dadri. "Power supply was shut in these areas as well during the tree pruning work, which lasted a couple of hours," another power department official said.
Since it was a planned shutdown, residents of the affected areas were informed about the work.
