Mahadev app case: Noida Police books 18 under Gangster Act

NOIDA: In connection with the ongoing probe into the Mahadev App case, the Noida police booked 18 accused under the provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act.

The accused were booked after registering a case at the Sector 39 police station.

The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) is investigating Mahadev Book Online Betting APP syndicate.

The Mahadev scandal has emerged as a significant issue during the election campaign, with both major parties trading allegations and attempting to sway public opinion.

Four accused persons have already been arrested according to ED. Whereas, proceeds of crime worth more than Rs 450 crore has been seized.

The ED has also opened a probe against Subham Soni, who has identified himself as the promoter of the online betting app and recently claimed to have passed on Rs 508 crore to Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel.
