Info not updated yet, 40% in city can’t get cashless treatment
Noida: Almost 40% of Ayushman Bharat golden card holders in the district can’t get cashless treatment in hospitals because of mismatch in their data or incorrect information on the govt’s portal. There are 1.9 lakh card holders in Noida.
The health card scheme allows a medical insurance of upto Rs 5 lakh at 53 government and private hospitals in the district.

There are 53,000 families with 2.1 lakh members who are listed on the portal from Noida.
For cashless treatment in empanelled hospitals, beneficiaries must have their information updated on the govt portal. There should also be no mismatch between the online data and information printed on the card. Any discrepancy leads to termination of their application for free treatment.
In such cases, the beneficiaries are asked for additional or updated documents to establish their eligibility. But since changing the documents require time, most families prefer to pay up so that treatment can start.
“So, it’s very difficult for families that can’t afford the treatment. They have no option but to wait,” an official said.
Health department officials, however, dubbed the problem a “small technical issue”. “This will be resolved soon. No eligible patient will be deprived of medical benefits promised by the govt,” an official said.
The administration will soon hold camps to bring more people under the welfare scheme, the official added. The health scheme helps in taking care of expenses, surgeries and long treatment.
