Gr Noida plans OTS to mop up ₹34cr water dues

Noida: The Greater Noida Authority is planning to settle pending water bills worth Rs 34 crore through a one-time scheme. Those who clear the bill by January 31 will get a 40% rebate on the interest. Similarly, there will be other slabs till March 31.
Ashutosh Dwivedi, ACEO of Greater Noida Authority, explained that after January 31 there will be a 30% discount on the interest on deposits made from February 1 to February 29 and a 20% discount on deposits made from March 1 to March 31.
The GNIDA CEO had given consent to settle bills through a one time settlement scheme for individual, commercials, Industrial and group housing users during the last board meeting on December 26, 2023.
According to GNIDA officials, the OTS will bring relief to all defaulters who are willing to deposit the outstanding amount. Since its approval at the board meeting, the order for its implementation has also been issued, officials added.
Users who have pending water bills can contact Jitendra Gautam, general manager of the GNIDA’s water department to settle their bills. In order to get the rebate, users will also have to apply through an online portal - investing.in. Once users have applied on the portal, the discount on the interest charged will be calculated for the outstanding bill and a new amount payable will be generated.
After March 31, 2024, no relief will be given in interest and outstanding amounts will be recovered by issuing recovery certificates and additional penalty based on the type of user.
