Ghaziabad SP leader’s murder: Main accused held

GHAZIABAD: Delhi Police have arrested the key conspirator in the murder of Yashveer Singh, a Samajwadi Party leader of Ghaziabad. The accused, Krishan Pal Yadav (49), was in an illicit relationship with a woman named Sangeeta (name changed). Her sons and Yashveer objected to their relationship. Yadav and Sangeeta then hatched a plan to kill Yashveer using the latter’s sons.
Cops got a tip-off on March 7 that Yadav would come to Kotla Mubarakpur. A trap was laid in Pilanji village by the special task force. “About 7.10pm, a suspicious person was apprehended by inspector Rajender Singh of the STF and a country-made pistol and one live cartridge was recovered from him. He was later identified as Yadav,” said a senior police officer.
