NOIDA: Residents of Sector 20 have alleged irregularities in the nomination process for the RWA election scheduled to be held on May 10. They have accused acting RWA president Pyarelal Yadav of not allowing a fair nomination process.
“From the four election officers to monitor elections to those contesting for the post of president and other officebearers, all are people from Yadav’s camp,” said a resident, who did not wished to be named.
Also, those who wanted to fight elections, were not allowed and asked to take nominations back, residents alleged. “Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, a B block member, wanted to stand for the block member election but refused nominations,” said Suresh Tiwari, another resident of Sector 20.
The residents have also written to district magistrate Nagendra Prasad Singh and SSP Preetinder Singh to hold the RWA election under CCTV surveillance.
When contacted, Yadav denied all allegations of mishandling poll procedure. “The allegations are baseless and done with the intention to malign my reputation. I’ve worked for the welfare of this sector and I’m confident of winning the polls,” he said.
