NOIDA:
Noida Authority
on Thursday carried out an
anti-encroachment drive
and freed three acres of
usurped land
in
Sorkha village
near sector 118 in Noida. The land worth about Rs 60 crore was Noida’s notified land and earmarked for providing access to the Samajwadi Awas housing society.
The said land had been illegally usurped by mafia for the last several years. Noida Authority has razed to the ground more than a dozen big and small structures in the area besides bringing down a boundary wall built by the unauthorized builder.
According to officials, the land was freed amidst heavy police presence. “The drive to free the illegally occupied land from the clutches of unscrupulous land mafia was launched in the morning and was ended at noon,” said R.K Mishra, additional CEO (ACEO), Noida Authority.
“The district administration joined forces with the cops from Noida besides PAC along with Noida Authority personnel to clear the illegal occupation from Noida’s notified land,” he said. “The land has been designated for use of roads and other utilities,” he explained.
