Anil Dujana aide arrested for extortion

: A 40-year-old man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly running the extortion syndicate of gangster Anil Dujana, who is currently serving a jail term in Maharajganj.

Police said that the arrested accused is the brother-in-law of Dujana and was allegedly assigned by the latter to keep his nexus alive. “The accused was arrested from Surajpur Court where he had come to visit Dujana, who was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday,” Muneesh Chauhan, SHO (Surajpur police station).

He said the duo was allegedly passing chits that contained messages regarding their targets for extortion. The accused has been identified as Virendra Kumar, a native of Chapargarh village in Dankaur area in Greater Noida. An FIR has been registered against him under Section 386 (Extortion) of the IPC. Meanwhile, Virender also confessed to the

crime

and said that he delivers Dujana’s messages to his men as they help in extorting money.

“The gang uses Dujana’s handwritten messages as an authentication to extort money from their targets. “The accused revealed that the targets give him money only after the messages are shown to them,” Chauhan added. In the chits that were recovered from Virender, Dujana had asked targets to pay Rs 10 lakhs. The gangster had also written messages for his men, police said. Meanwhile, the accused was sent to jail after being produced in court on Friday.
