Drunk cop abuses colleagues, suspended
NOIDA: A constable deployed at Sector 56 police chowki was suspended for allegedly misbehaving with fellow policemen and a few locals while in an inebriated state on Saturday.
A departmental inquiry has been initiated by the SSP Love Kumar in the matter after constable
According to police, Dharmendra was deployed at the Rajat Vihar T-point falling under the Sector 58 police station area on Saturday morning as part of the Eid al-adha celebrations. He was supposed to report for work at the spot at 6am, but was not at the spot when senior police officers arrived there for checking.
“He arrived late at the spot, and was found misbehaving with residents. It was found that he abused other policemen there and the locals, demeaning the reputation of police,” SSP spokesperson Prabhat Dixit said.
Initial investigations found the allegations to be true, Dixit said. A medical examination also proved him to be drunk.
Dharmendra was immediately suspended and a departmental inquiry has been initiated in the matter, Dixit said.
