GHAZIABAD: A 38-year-old man died after falling off the Thakurdwara flyover late on Friday night.

Awadhesh Kumar, police said, was riding his bike under the influence of alcohol when he lost control and crashed into the divider.

The accident took place around 12.30am on Saturday when Awadhesh Kumar, a resident of Bhagalpur in Bihar, was riding his motorcycle home from Ghanta Ghar.

A police team rushed a critically injured Kumar to the nearby MMG district hospital, where he later succumbed to injuries.

According to a senior police official, Kumar fell around 20ft from the middle portion of the flyover.

"The rider was clearly speeding and showed signs of intoxication," an officer said.

Awadhesh Kumar, who was employed at a warehouse in Loha Mandi, was heading to his Arthala home, according to cops.

Both the rider and his bike plunged from the flyover, a senior police officiial said.
