Delhiites can take part in flower show

NOIDA: Instead of plodding days under quilts and blankets, this winter its time to plant some 'Cinerarias', as the city will play host to the 30th edition of the annual flower show from February 26 to 28.
The Floriculture Society of Noida has decided 'Cineraria' to be the theme flower for the annual flower show scheduled to be held at Noida Stadium."Cinerarias grow well in these parts of the country, especially during winters. They do not need glaring sunlight, and can thrive in shade. It is easy to grow them both indoors and in shady outdoor gardens, we hope the participants would create great displays with the theme flower," said Deepa Pasricha, joint secretary of the Floriculture Society.
The show this year has also opened its doors to participants from gardening enthusiasts of Delhi as well. "Last year, we had as many as 3,500 entries and participants from as far as Faridabad participated in the flower show. The show is growing in size and popularity by the year among gardening enthusiasts of NCR. This year, we expect an even wider response. We will shortly start giving out entry forms for interested participants," said Pasricha.
The annual show hosts schools, private gardens, house gardens, institutes among other individual participants. "The flower show has over the years increased the green consciousness among the residents of Noida. Enthusiasts look forward to the occasion to keep their gardening alive round the year. Gardening is a great way to participate nature in your lifestyle, which is the message of the Noida Flower show. The show is unique not just because of the flowers and plants at display, but also due to the wide range of gardening accessories on sale at the show," Pasricha added.
The annual flower show of Noida is organized by the Floriculture Society of Noida under the aegis of Noida Authority.
