Buyers to challenge Rera in Allahabad high court next week

next week. They are also going to meet the GNIDA officers on August 10 to press on the issues of delayed projects.

“UP RERA has changed the definition of the RERA Act through its notification. Because of such non-consonance we have decided to challenge the UP Rera at Allahabad high court. We are presently preparing the papers. We have taken legal counsel. The ground for challenging the notification is that with tweaking the definition of online projects, the act has left many buyers in the lurch. So we will ask the court to give us justice,” Abhishek Kumar, president, Nefowa said.

The buyers have also called for a protest at the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) on August 10.

“We are going to place a demand with GNIDA that they should take a proactive stance towards ensuring completion of apartments on time. We also want to demand that those projects which are under construction but have applied for completion be not offered completion until the entire project is finished,” Shweta Bharti, general secretary, Nefowa, said.

“All projects are delayed in Noida Extension. No one has been able to deliver on time. Not only the apartments, even the infrastructure is deferred. There seems to be neither political will nor administrative will to put the Noida Extension region on track. We think that the development of Noida Extension could lead to a major growth of the economy of the region. Why is it not being pushed?” Abhishek Kumar added.

“Roads, sewerage systems, hospitals, schools, civic amenities, everything needs to be enhanced in the area. We want the GNIDA to be accountable to us. We are also worried about the quality of material being used for construction,” Shweta Bharti added.
