Art, craft and food: Noida set for 2-day weekend carnival

Noida: Noida Authority is organising a two-day winter carnival in Sector 18 that will see an amalgamation of local art, crafts and food this weekend. Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M and MP Mahesh Sharma inaugurated the event on Saturday."Noida is a manufacturing hub. Noida excels not only in the apparel industry but also in different fields. However, many people do not know it. This carnival aims to give a platform to local artisans and craftsmen to display their products and sell them. There is a tradition of Sunday market, Tuesday market in some cities and towns. On the same lines, we are planning to set up such carnivals in Sector 18. We will soon organise similar exhibitions in other locations as well. Noida Authority will facilitate the exhibition and support the participants," Lokesh M said. MP Sharma said Noida is known for its development activities and geographical location. "The city achieved new heights under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Yogi Adityanath. Such cultural activities paint a colourful picture of the city," Sharma said.Nikhil Shivhare, CEO of Sublimation Solution, put up a stall for corporate gifting at the exhibition. "We manufacture water bottles, mouse pads, printed cups, t-shirts, and plates, etc. We're getting a good response here at the carnival. We are also offering discounts up to 90% on our products," he said.Nearly 80 stalls have been placed at the exhibition, selling everything from home décor, mehndi art, madhubani paintings, tattoo art, earthen pots, to bags, and purses and other accessories. There is also a section for kids at the exhibition. In addition to this, there are food stalls offering all varieties of food. The exhibition will be open from 2 pm to 9 pm on Sunday.
