Greater Noida: Mainpal Dujana, the brother of alleged gangster and panchayat member Anil Dujana, was arrested on Wednesday. Mainpal was wanted for the murder of Harender Nagar, a property dealer who was shot dead by half a dozen assailants in January last year. A court sent him to judicial custody later in the day.

Abhishek Yadav, SP (rural), GB Nagar, said police had declared a reward of Rs 5,000 for any information on Mainpal.
Following a tip-off, a team of officers of the criminal intelligence wing of the crime branch in plainclothes, led by inspector Anil Kaparwan, nabbed Mainpal near the Sharda University roundabout.
A loaded country-made pistol with an extra live cartridge was recovered from his possession. During interrogation, Mainpal confessed to having killed Harender. Mainpal's brother, Anil, is involved in several cases of land-grabbing.
Police said Anil Dujana was in jail and wanted to eliminate Harender owing to a dispute over a 16-acre plot near Chhaparaula village. "His brother and five of his accomplices had shot Harender dead when he was in his Toyota Fortuner," police said.
