Greater Noida: Anil Dujana gang shooter arrested

, was arrested in his village Junpad on Tuesday morning.

Anit, who was wanted in at least six cases and was lodged in five police stations of Greater Noida including the Junpad double murder case, had been arrested earlier in June 2015 for the same case but was out on bail.

He had recently stolen a Swift Dzire from one Sukhjinder Singh near the Honda company on the Surajpur-Kasna road for which the reward on his head was increased from Rs 12,000 to Rs 15,000.

The car theft happened on May 23.

Following a tip-off that Tota (25) was at home, two teams of policemen from the GB Nagar anti-extortion cell and Kasna police station reached the spot.

Ajay Sharma, in-charge, anti-extortion cell, told TOI, “When the teams reached the spot, Anit resisted the arrest and shot the first round at the police who retaliated. At least three rounds were fired from his side while five-six rounds were fired by the police. He was shot in his right leg and was arrested.”

Sharma said, “However, there were two more unidentified persons at his home who along with Anit tried to flee the spot on a red Pulsar. We chased them for about four minutes following which they fled towards the ATS roundabout where we tried to nab them. But they managed to flee.”

Tota is one of the main accused in the double murder of Rajkumar Sharma and his gunner Nitin and was out on bail.
