Noida: A 26-year-old man was arrested on Sunday for allegedly murdering his friend. The accused was identified as Chandra Bhan, a resident of Kaushambi. He was living with his wife at a rented accommodation in Bhangel village. Meanwhile, the victim,
Sanjeev Kumar (24), shared the flat with the couple.
Police said
Sanjeev was in an illicit relationship with Chandra’s wife and when he came to know about it, he strangled the former on February 21.

Manoj Tyagi informed the police.
“Police sent the body to postmortem and informed the deceased’s family. The autopsy report revealed the cause of death was strangulation. An FIR was lodged against unknown person under Section 302 (murder) and started an investigation,” he said.
The officer added that when they tried to contact the couple, they fled the house. After which, they become the first suspect in the murder case.
“On Sunday, the police received information about Chandra’s movement near Labour Chowk in Noida. The police caught him up for questioning where he admitted his role in the murder,” the SHO said. During interrogation, the suspect revealed that on February 21, he had returned home from work and had allegedly found his wife and Kumar in a compromising position.
“In anger, Chandra hatched a plan to murder Sanjeev. At night, the three people had dinner together. Chandra’s wife and Sanjeev fell asleep while he was awoken and restless. Later, he strangled the victim to death and then fled with his wife,” the officer added.
The police have recovered the victim’s Aadhaar card, class X certificate, from the suspect’s possession. Police said the suspect will be produced in court and sent to judicial custody on Monday. The police have formed a team to nab the woman who is absconding at the moment.
