Indian Culinary Forum
(ICF) on Saturday awarded 137 chefs for their
culinary skills
in a programme in Noida.
The winners were selected from 300 participants who exhibited their culinary skills. The culinary experts participated in 16 different cooking and presentation categories including ‘Indian regional cuisine, artistic pastry showpiece, fruit and vegetable carving, cake, artistic bakery showpiece, plated desserts, mocktail, etc. They were honoured in the annual Culinary Art India (CAI) – 2016.
Chief guest Luv Malhotra, vice president of Federation of Hotels and Restaurants Association of India (FHRAI), said that CAI is a platform to create awareness about the profession of chefs and felicitate the achievers in the line of work.
“India is a global tourism destination, drawing around eight million foreign tourists and 1.4 billion domestic tourists annually. Indian culinary tourism is also showing substantial growth. Indigenous chefs are also excelling in fusion cuisine. We see a great expect prospect of culinary industry,” he said.
Devinder Kumar, president of ICF, said that this is the 11th edition of programme. “This is to offer fellow chefs a professional platform to showcase, exhibit and hone culinary skills and raise the Indian culinary art at par with international level,” he said.
