NOIDA/GHAZIABAD: Ghaziabad reported 11 new dengue cases on Friday, taking the tally to 305, while Noida reported 12 new cases, and the total number of cases reached 250.

Among the new patients in Ghaziabad, the youngest is a 12-year-old girl from Sarai Nazar Ali, and the eldest is a 49-year-old woman from Govindpuram.
The doctors said, along with dengue and malaria cases, there is a spurt in viral fever cases. The initial symptoms of all three are common, but later the blood platelets decline in dengue cases.
Recently, the health officials in Noida issued notices to private hospitals that have been declaring patients dengue-positive only on the basis of a decline in blood platelets. The order stated that no patient would be declared dengue-positive without an Elisa test.
