NAVI MUMBAI: A 23-year-old labourer, Omkar Yadav, was arrested by the Turbhe police on Thursday from Koparkhairane, after he allegedly killed his colleague.
The victim, Mahendra Gautam (22), along with a few others, was at a party in Seawoods hosted by a builder on Wednesday, the police said. During the party, Yadav reportedly had too much to drink and threw up.

Gautam reprimanded him and asked him to limit his drinking. The party then got over at 10pm and they all headed to their homes in Sanpada.
When they reached their neighbourhood, Yadav confronted Gautam. The argument turned violent and Yadav hit Gautam on the head with a sickle. When Gautam fell to the ground, Yadav panicked and fled. Gautam's friends took him to a hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Gautam's brother, Jitendra, approached the police and a manhunt was launched. "He was found hiding in a slum in Koparkhairane from where he was arrested," said senior inspector Ramesh Katkar.Pix by KC Singh
