Youth booked for raping Koparkhairane teen

NAVI MUMBAI: A Koparkhairane resident lodged a complaint alleging a youth from Malad compelled her 17-year-old daughter to get married to him and coerced her to stay as his wife for past three months. The Koparkhairane police booked Imtiyaz Maqbool Khan under IPC, POCSO Act and Child Marriage Act.
Senior inspector Satish Gaikwad said, “The victim and her mother shifted to Koparkhairane three months ago.The youth and girl got married and stayed as husband and wife. The mother claimed that he had forced her into marriage.” The girl’s bone test, done at NMMC hospital, confirmed that she was 17 years old.
