The police had gone to a Navratri venue to stop the music being played beyond the stipulated deadline of 12 am. The cops said that they had asked the villagers to shut the music and bring the party to a halt as it was 2.30am and the midnight deadline had passed. The villagers, cops said, didn’t seem to agree with them.
The villagers pelted the police jeep with stones shattering the windshield. A few stones also hit the constables on duty who suffered minor injuries.
