Woman held for cheating teenage girl of 40k, laptop

NAVI MUMBAI: The CBD police have arrested a woman from Mumbra on Saturday for allegedly cheating a Chennai-based teenager. The girl alleged that the accused claimed to be a dealer of herbal products and contacted her through internet, offering to sell herbal oil with medicinal properties for horses at race course. The woman cheated her by taking Rs 40,000 cash and laptop as advance payment and decamped.The accused, Rashida Nizam Khan (30), has been remanded in police custody till Tuesday.
Police sub-inspector Pol said that they tracked her through her mobile to Mumbra. “We have recovered the victim’s laptop. Khan claimed that the mastermind is a Nigerina national, who sends such fake emails and cheats gullible customers.”
