With 9 national & 1 world record, city athletes make a mark in record books
Navi Mumbai: As many as nine national records and a world record were created in physical endurance and speed category like skipping, squats, arm rotation, astride jumps, jumping jacks, cross hand skips, alternate leg squat thrust during the Record Breaking Festival at Airoli organised by the Record Breakers Club of Navi Mumbai on Saturday, May 25.

The Limca Book of Records will ratify the records after receiving necessary documentations.
The records were adjudged and certified by officials of Best of India Records who flew down from Delhi. According to the record book officials, this is first of its kind record setting event with such number of participants on a single platform anywhere in the country. The record recipients were Aditi Sanap (18), Janhavi Sanap (13), Vinit Patil (11), Adarsh Pal (20), Shravani Bhuran (13), Dipti Pant (16), Bhumika Pant (13), Kabir Pant (10), Kartik Choudhary (7), Harshith Sivaganesan (11).
Leading from the front Adarsh executed 166 astride jumps in a minute to set a new bench mark. Aditi followed with 246 double legs skipping while smashing the previous best of 241 in the stipulated one minute. In the deep squat category, Janhavi created a new target of 73 in a minute. Vinit gave his best to smash the previous jumping jacks record of 109 by scoring 112 in a minute.
In cross hand skips, Shravani completed 90 repetitions in a minute. In the hand rotation section, Dipti rotated her right hand for 144 times.
Kabir shattered a long-time record by rotating his right hand for 183 times in a minute. Bhumika made a new mark in the jumping jacks category of one minute by executing 110 times. The youngest among the bunch Kartik was richer by performing 162 alternate squat thrust in a minute. Harshith got the better of the previous best of 91 by doing 95 side bends in one minute which happened to be world record.
