NAVI MUMBAI: Kamothe police station’s senior inspector S Mullemwar has urged City and Industrial Development Corporation officials to put up a fence along the boundary of the creek behind Khandeshwar railway station.
His suggestion comes after two school boys from Bandra drowned in the creek on Tuesday.
Mullemwar said that it is necessary to take preventive measures to prohibit people, especially youngsters and schoolchildren, from entering the creek behind Khandeshwar railway station.

“As there is an easy access to the creek from the railway station, many youngsters visit the spot to swim in the two naturally-created ponds. But, there have been three deaths due to venturing too deep into the creek waters,” he added.
He added that as the area behind Khandeshwar railway station belongs to Cidco, they have asked the latter to put up boards to prohibit trespassing and also erect fence along the periphery of the creek.
