NAVI MUMBAI: The general body, during a meeting held on Wednesday, did not give its sanction to the proposal of hiking the licensing fees to be levied upon hotels, sweet marts and other such commercial establishments.
The emphasis of procuring an NOC from the town planning department for availing licences turned out to be the primary reason for the disagreement.
“The proposal, if sanctioned, would have caused gross injustice on the shops owned by Project Affected Persons, slum dwellers and those from the Low Income Group (LIG),” said Vashi corporator Kishor Patkar.
