Complaint filed on post taunting wife of Maharashtra deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis

NAVI MUMBAI: After a post taunting deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis’ wife Amruta Fadnavis, subsequent to her media interview, was shared on a WhatsApp group by a businessman from Rajapur, BJP activists objected to the post and complained to the police. The police have summoned the businessman and the group admin.

The post features a photograph of Amruta Fadnavis being interviewed by a TV channel, which was telecast on July 5 and July 6. Amruta had spoken about her husband’s trips in disguise past mid-night to meet Sena rebel leader Eknath Shinde before he was named as CM. It was posted on July 9 by businessman Ashfaque Mapar

“The post brings into disrepute a renowned woman, who is the wife of the Deputy Chief Minister,” said complainant Anilkumar Karangutkar, a local BJP leader in Ratnagiri.
