NAVI MUMBAI: The Raigad Anti-corruption Bureau team caught a circle officer of Pen tehsildar office while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000 on Thursday. Raigad ACB’s deputy SP Sunil Kalgutkar said that the arrested, Prakash Pawar, is the in-charge of 36 villages under the Pen tehsildar office jurisdiction. On December 8, a land owner from Pen lodged a complaint against Pawar, alleging that he had demanded a bribe of Rs 5,000 for registration of the property he had purchased in the government records.
After negotiation, he settled for Rs 3,000. He added that Pawar was sent to one-day police custody.
