PCMC offers 75% rebate for Marathi plays in Panvel auditorium for a year

NAVI MUMBAI: To help promote Marathi theatre business and attract spectators post pandemic, the PCMC has decided to offer at least 75% discount on the rent charged at Adya Krantiveer Vasudev Balwant Phadke Natyagruha, the only civic-run auditorium in the city for Marathi plays, for a period of one year.

The decision was recently announced by PCMC commissioner and administrator Ganesh Deshmukh. Residents and theatre groups have welcomed the move.

“A 75% discount on rent has been approved in the recent meeting for Marathi plays being held at the civic-run auditorium for a year, with immediate effect which will be valid till December 31, 2023. It was the need of the hour to help the industry regain its ground after pandemic,” said Deshmukh.
