, he was formally released from the Rajarshee Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Government Medical College and CPR Hospital, Kolhapur on Thursday.

“MLA Nitesh Rane visited the civil hospital in Sindhudurg and the Sawantwadi jail to complete the release formalities,” Sangram Desai, the counsel for Rane, said.

“The police did not make a written application seeking police custody before the elapse of time limit for challenging the JMFC court order remanding Rane to judicial custody before the sessions court judge. The probability of challenging the sessions court’s order is very low. Rane is also suffering from spondylitis and backbone pain,” said
