Navi Mumbai: Railway tout creates 145 fake IDs, held
NAVI MUMBAI: A RPF team led by inspector Lokesh Sagar raided a house in Turbhe on Sunday and arrested a youth for reserving e-tickets illegally on long-distance trains.
The accused has been identified as Arjun Gupta (25), who has been booked under Section 143 of the Railway Act.
Senior divisional security commissioner Sachin Bhalawde has ordered a crackdown on railway touts. “Gupta has been nabbed for illegally booking etickets for which he charged a commission. We had sent a bogus customer and booked e-tickets. While the fare was Rs 2,000, Gupta charged Rs 1,500 extra as his commission,” said Lokesh Sagar, Turbhe RPF inspector.
Gupta had created 145 fake IDs on the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website, which handles online ticketing operations. Gupta was booking e-tickets without authorization from IRCTC. Gupta has claimed that he has been booking e-tickets for the last 18 months and he got this idea from the internet. Tickets worth Rs 1,47,000 have been seized. “Touts have moved to

Railway is the biggest scam openly running. Court orders taxis and buses to not over charge travellers. But railways openly and anytime of years overcharges customers in the name of tatkal and premium tatkal and other charges in the name or special trains. Railways are just cheating people by issuing unlimited waiting list. They are running parallel waiting list. I. Normal waiting list. 2 Pool waiting list 3. Tatkal waiting list 4 Premium tatkal waiting list. If you see the numbers in tatkla and premium tatkal then you might see around 3- 4 coaches are reserved for tatkal and around one coach might be for premium tatkal. What is the percentage under which tatkal are reserved. I am talking about a train which is 3A completely. First day booking gives you waiting tickets in your hands. What is the formula working. After issuing waiting list i feel that almost double the capacity of train tickets are issued. People don''t object as they don''t have any other alternate.Read allPost comment
