Navi Mumbai: Corporators play pivotal role in assembly poll

With close to 200 corporators in the two civic bodies of NMMC and PCMC , the candidates contesting from Airoli, Belapur and Panvel are looking forward to soliciting support from the electorate by engaging them actively in door to door campaigning in the forthcoming assembly election.

NAVI MUMBAI: With close to 200 corporators in the two civic bodies of NMMC and PCMC , the candidates contesting from Airoli, Belapur and Panvel are looking forward to soliciting support from the electorate by engaging them actively in door to door campaigning in the forthcoming assembly election.
Haresh Keni, BSKP corporator in Panvel civic body , who is a candidate of the combined alliance of NCP, Congress and others said, "Irrespective of party affiliation, each corporator has a task cut in the ward where the voters know them."
With over 50 corporators with him , Panvel BJP candidate, Prashant Thakur has made further dent in the BSKP or PWP by winning over few of family members of the party's corporators, said sources.

Sashi Kant Raut , NMMC corporator who was earlier NCP and with BJP because city NCP merged with BJP said " all corporators have been given a particular area where meetings are being held. In my case four to five wards have been clustered together." Raut is engaged with campaigning of Airoli BJP candidate, Ganesh Naik.
Belapur BJP candidate, Manda Mhatre has also meetings scheduled in various wards where local corporators presence will ensure support base
