Similarly, institutions in Panvel fared better than last year with a pass rate of 94.52%. Thirty-six out of 100 schools here secured 100% results.
Uran also did well with an overall pass rate of 94.71%, which was again better than last year. Out of 264 schools from NMMC areas, Panvel and Uran talukas, 97 secured 100% results.
“Eighty-six students from our school appeared for the exam and all of them cleared the hurdle,” said Heena Samani, principal of Terna Vidayalaya, Nerul.
Kalpana Rishi, headmistress of State Bank Officers’ Association (SBOA) School, Nerul, said, “I am elated that 20 out of 93 students have scored above 90%. Our school topper, Shivani Murli, got 95.60%.”
Among the city toppers, Siddhi Khandagale and Gandhali Pawar, both from St Joseph’s High School, New Panvel, were tied at 96.80%. The secret of their success was studying consistently throughout the year and just before the exams.
“I was confident of securing good marks. I have been passionate about writing, which helped me a lot,” said Siddhi.
However, Gandhali didn’t expect more than 95%. So, the result came as a surprise for this calm and composed girl. “I feel great to have secured such high percentage,” she said.
“For a record 13th year, we achieved 100% results. We also had a record number of 454 students clearing the exams this year,” said Saeeda J Malim, headmistress of St Joseph, New Panvel.
Snigdha Roy, principal of Father Agnel, was on cloud nine with her students making a mark in both Marathi and English.
“Sanika Pradhan with 96.6% stood first in the English medium. Jay Pakale with 96.4% was second while Lomal Hirurkar and Geetanjali Pillai, tied at 96.2%, jointly secured the third place. Athang Ghag and Tanvi Mondkar with a score of 95.6% bagged the highest percentage in Marathi medium.”
Keeping its tradition of 100% results, all 332 students from St Joseph’s High School, Kalamboli, cleared the exams with Rinki Chourasia topping the school with 95%. A student of Sriram School in Airoli, Nikita Patil, who never attended coaching classes due to financial constraints, scored 84.4%, bringing cheers in her neighbourhood.
