Mobiles, cash worth Rs 12.6 lakh stolen in Vashi

NAVI MUMBAI: An unidentified man broke into two mobile stores, which belong to Amit Kumar Tiwari (33), in sector 17 and Sector 30A, Vashi and decamped with 55 smart phones, collectively worth Rs 12 lakh.
The man also stole Rs 66,000 from sector 17 store. Investigating officer, C Godse said the thefts came to light on Thursday, when inventory was being carried out. “Nine handsets were allegedly stolen from the store in sector 17, while another 46 were stolen from the store near Vashi railway station. The shops were opened using a duplicate key. We suspect that an insider is involved.” Vashi police have registered a house break theft case.
