Awhad will be visiting the flyover site at Vashi, near Arenja Corner, at 2 pm on Sunday to see how this green cover loss can be averted.

Former Vashi corporators

Vikram Shinde

and

Divya Gaikwad

, who had also raised objections to the tree-cuttings, will accompany Awhad at the site.

Awhad said in his tweet on Saturday, “The imbalance is now a curse. We want development, but don't slaughter trees.”

He tagged state environment minister Aaditya Thackeray and the Navi Mumbai police in his tweet.

Awhad also said the notice inviting objections to the flyover work was issued in a newspaper “which is not even read by 500 people”.
