Maharashtra: NMMC crosses 14K Covid-19 positive cases

NAVI MUMBAI: The NMMC has reported an average daily of 306 positive Covid-19 cases in 13 days from July 16 to 28. A total of 320 people tested positive Tuesday, taking the total to 14,252. The ward wise break-up of the positive cases of Tuesday (July 28) will be available Wednesday as the samples that tested positive include those that have were sent to lab for

. The break-up of the positive cases from July 16 to July 27 show lowest number of cases in Dighe ward, located north part of the city. Unlike other wards, it is not crowded and not commercial but has slums too.

wards in the northern part of the civic jurisdiction have reported an increase, compared to initial days of spread. Civic sources said Airoli is close to the central Mumbai surburbs , and movement of people inter city could have been a cause ,besides the small domains in the residential pockets where social distancing might have been ignored by residents.
