NAVI MUMBAI: Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Thursday arrested four Pop-ular Front of India (PFI) members from Panvel on receiving specific information that they were conducting meetings despite the central government’s ban on the outfit for alleged terror links. Those arrested are a local member of PFI’s state expansion committee, a local unit secretary and two workers.

A case has been registered against Mohammed Aasif Khan (43), Moiz Patel (24), Abdul Raheem Sayyed (46), and Tanvir Khan (38) under Section 10 (penalty for being member of an unlawful association) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, at the Kalachowki unit of the state ATS.

Last month, the Centre had banned PFI and several of its associates for five years, accusing them of having links with global terror groups like ISIS.
