Supreme Council Navi Mumbai Gurudwaras is organizing a first-of-its-kind international conference on 'Interfaith Dialogue' on Sunday at Imperial Banquet Hall in Vashi.

NAVI MUMBAI: Supreme Council Navi Mumbai Gurudwaras is organizing first of its kind International Conference on 'Interfaith Dialogue' in relevance to Guru Granth Sahib on March 2, at Imperial Banquet Hall, Vashi. Heads of all the Major religions have been invited to talk on universal understandings and peace. They will include professor Manjit Singh, former Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Kesh Garh Sahib Ananadpur, Punjab, Swamy Sura Das, president of ISCKON, Kharghar, Dr Akhtar-Ul-Wasey, head of Islamic Studies, Jamia Milia Islamia University Delhi, Dr Homi B Dhalla, founder chairman, Zoarastrian Cultural Foundation, Mumbai among others.

Besides, distinguished scholars from across the country and abroad representing various faiths will present their papers and share their learned thoughts with the attendance about the positive contribution of the religion in the growth and development of humanity. Dr Jaspal Singh, vice chancellor of Punjabi University Patiala, Dr Rawail Singh, Delhi, Dr Anarkali Kaur, Afghanistan, Sardar S P S Oberoi, Dubai, Sardar Ajaib Singh Sangha, Toronto, Dr Mohinder Singh, member, National Commission for minority educational institution, Satya P Gautam, chairperson, School of Philosophy, Jawahar Lal Nehru University and director educational research and record, Dr Deepak Manmohan Singh, director, World Punjabi Centre, Dr Satish Kumar Verma, Punjabi University Patiala will be presenting their papers.
Maharashtra governor K Shankarnarayanan will kick off the conference. "This conference on Interfaith Dialogue in relevance to Guru Granth Sahib will work as a launching pad for Supreme Council in its effort of setting up a comprehensive Interfaith studies and research centre at Guru Gobind Singh Educational Complex, on the outskirts of Panvel on a 13 acre land. Supreme Council Navi Mumbai Guruduwaras has thus planned the setting up of an ambitious multifaceted Guru Gobind Singh Educational Complex and Studies Centre at Rs 100 crore.
