Around 3.30 pm, a courier boy arrived at Patil’s flat to deliver a parcel. The nephew called Patil and informed him. But, the man told Patil that the nephew was a minor and hence he could not hand over the parcel to him. Patil told him to come later and disconnected the call. But, the man pretended that he was still talking to Patil and told the nephew that his uncle had told him to give him the ornaments as safe deposit. He then asked the nephew for the electricity bill and fled when he went to get it.
PSI Kolatkar said, “The nephew immediately informed Patil, who registered a cheating case at Panvel city police station.”
