Civic chief takes suprise stock of development work

NAVI MUMBAI:

Civic chief Dr N Ramaswami

on Tuesday paid a suprise visit to take stock of various ongoing development projects and

NMMT operations

. To recover from losses, the commissioner has suggested that NMMC and NMMT together work out an

advertisement policy

. Ramaswami reportedly visited the control room and saw live-tracking of

NMMT buses

. He has also asked for information regarding per km earnings from each route and the list of drivers as per their performance, an official said. He wants NMMT to start new routes and catch ticket-less travellers.

The municipal commissioner first inspected the road work in Belapur Gaothan sector 19 and 20 and Agroli sector 30. Following this, he paid a sudden visit to Nerul’s sewerage treatment plant. He is informed to have reviewed the entire process that goes into treating and release of treated water into the creek. —Sameera Kapoor Munshi.
