NAVI MUMBAI: The social welfare wing of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) will soon facilitate vocational courses, in tailoring, garment manufacturing and fashion designing in an attempt to empower women and girls interested in pursuing the profession.
The tailoring course is for six months and completion of class 7 is the minimum qualification for eligibility.
The courses are designed to benefit residents of Navi Mumbai. The school leaving certificate and mark sheets have to be submitted during admission and medium of instruction will be Marathi. Other documents required for enrolment include property bill receipt, voter identity card, Aadhaar card, ration card and marriage certificate for married women.
Admission forms are available from July 1 to 20. Though the courses are absolutely free of charge, beneficiaries have to pay the examination fees as per the guidelines set by the State government.
