City girl wins 2 bronze at international swim meet

NAVI MUMBAI: Navi Mumbai swimmer Rutuja Udeshi, a class XII student of Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil College, Vashi, shone at the 45th Singapore National Age Group Aquatic Championships held at Singapore Sports School recently. She won two bronze medals in 100m butterfly (1.07 minutes) and 200m individual medley in 2.38 minutes.
This was her first medal at an international-level competition.
She is now looking forward to more international meets this year. She had also represented India at World School Games held last year in Brazil.
She is now training in Singapore, along with co-swimmer Viraj Prabhu, at Swimfast Academy under coach David Lim. She is a trainee at the Father Agnel Sports Center in Vashi under coach Gokul Kamath.
