Catholics observe Good Friday in Navi Mumbai

Enactments of the ‘Station of the Cross’ that relived the final moments of Christ along with sombre processions and prayers marked Good Friday in the city by the Catholic community from the city.


A six-foot tall idol of

Jesus

Christ was inaugurated at St Joseph Church in CBD Belapur, The parishners of the church depicting the suffering of Jesus on his road to Calvary that culminated in his crucifixion. A large number of devotees including senior citizens and children took part in the inauguration of the idol.

Infant Jesus church Koparkhairane also conducted ‘Way of the Cross’ from Koparkhairane to Vashi. They also participated in the eveing mass. —Indrani Basu
