Bus rams into trailer on Uran Phata flyover

Navi Mumbai: A private bus on Sunday crashed into a

trailer

that had skid on Sion-Panvel highway’s

Uran Phata

flyover after applying brakes to prevent ramming into a car.

As the trailer had come to a halt horizontally to the flyover, two of the lanes were blocked, causing the bus to ram into it. However, the car which had slowed down before the trailer sped away.

The bus was transporting Marathi stage play artists. The front portion of the bus was severely mangled. The driver and five passengers sustained minor injuries. Among the injured was popular Marathi comedy actor Bhushan Kadu, the

Nerul police

said.

The Nerul police have registered a accident report and those who sustained injures were allowed to go after being provided first-aid.

CBD traffic unit in-charge Abhijit Mohite said, “There have been several mishaps on the downward slope of Uran Phata flyover. Improper asphalting work has allegedly left the surface very smooth.”
