270 pledge organs at mini-marathon

NAVI MUMBAI: Over 950 runners from across age groups streamed into the streets of Kamothe on Sunday morning to spread the message of organ donation. They took part in a 5km mini-marathon.

during the race, organized by Altruistic Foundation in association with Hiranandani Hospital, Vashi. The run tagged ‘Give Life, Live Life’ was held for the cause of organ donation. “The response was phenomenal. Over 270 people came forth to pledge for the cause and this is quite impressive,” said Vijay Chavan, an organsier.

The race was split into three categories—Young Guns for participants aged 12-18, Lethal Runners for above 18 and Second Innings Runners for those above 60.
