volunteers of Robinhood Army have been collecting surplus food from hotels, restaurants and wedding halls to feed the hungry in the city. On an average, the group has been feeding around 1,400 people. To ensure that they feed a real beneficiary, a thorough location survey is conducted by a group of 3-4 volunteers. They find out the number of family members, how many children are there in the family, the source of livelihood and from these parameters gauge the need to donate food to them.

They used to ask what we do with the surplus food. Then they started calling us for collecting the food. Even the beneficiaries are happy that they are getting good quality and fresh food,” informed Priyanka Robin, one of the volunteers.
She added that they conducted a Painted Green event across the country on March 16-17, wherein the work of the Robinhood Army was highlighted by sticking the painted posters on the walls of hotels, restaurants and other food-outlets.
