Woman loses gold jewellery worth Rs 84,000 to unidentified burglar

NASHIK: An unidentified burglar stole gold jewellery worth Rs 84,500 from a 27-year-old woman. On the complaint of the woman the Sarkarwada police have registered an FIR against an unidentified burlgar for the offence punishable under Section 379 (theft) of the IPC.

The complainant - Sonali Gaikwad, resident of Pathardi Phata had come to the Saraf Bazar, the jewellery market, of the city to get her gold jewellery - a chain and a pendant hallmarked.

The complainant said that since it was also her birthday on January 13, she initially went to a temple to pray in the Panchavati area.

Later, when she reached the Saraf Bazar she found that some unidentified person had managed to steal the gold chain and pendant, both combinedly weighing over12 grams from her purse.

The Sarkarwada police are investigating the case.
