NASHIK: In the Nashik district of Maharashtra, residents of Khirpada village in Taluka Surgana swim across rivers to access basic necessities amid heavy rainfall in the area.
A significant portion of the population is affected by the monsoon fury across the region. In the absence of a bridge, villagers are forced to cross the river dangerously.

However, an orange alert has been declared for Saturday, suggesting more severe weather is expected.

During the months of June and July, Nashik district recorded 404mm of rainfall, which is equivalent to 83% of its average precipitation of 483mm for this period.
