Two killed in separate road accidents in Nashik city
Nashik: Two road accidents claimed two lives in different parts of Nashik city on Friday.The deceased have been identified as Ritesh Suryawanshi (23) of Peth Naka, Panchavati, and Yashoda Kamble (55) of Chunchale, Ambad.The Adgaon police said Suryawanshi was riding a bike with his two friends, Parmeshwar Shinde and Prakash Jadhav, on the pillion. The three had gone to Niphad for some work. They were returning to Nashik when, near the Odha village on the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Highway, an unidentified person driving a white car struck them from behind.Suryawanshi succumbed to his injuries, the police said, while the other two were seriously injured. The car driver fled the scene.The Adgaon police have registered a case of rash driving and causing death due to negligence against the unidentified car driver. The case is being investigated.The other accident took place on the Kalanagar-Wadala Road at 2.45pm, in which Kamble lost her life.The police said Kamble was riding pillion on a scooter that her nephew, Deepak Taur, was riding. The two were proceeding towards the Pune highway from Wadala Road when a truck cut them off while overtaking them, owing to which Taur lost control of the bike and fell.Kamble came under the rear tyre of the truck and died on the spot. The truck driver escaped. The Indiranagar police are investigating the case.
